All accommodation is on or near campus and you’ll become a member of one of York's ten colleges once enrolled. All colleges encourage inclusivity and a valuable sense of community, through a wealth of social activities and a supportive system available to each and every student. A wide variety of clubs and societies on campus, as well as our college system, make it very easy for new students to integrate and feel at home throughout their studies.

The university has an International Student Support Office providing a range of services to support the diverse needs of students from international countries. This includes a free airport collection service from Manchester airport, orientation and social activities including visa processing services, opening a bank account and counseling services. In addition, the university also offers an extensive careers service which can help with internships, volunteering activities, job search and assessment preparation.
Following the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, York ranked 14th overall in the UK. The proportion ‘world-leading’ 4* research was among the highest of any UK university and eight departments were ranked in the top five for their subject. York is also in the UK top ten for graduate earning potential.
