Overview

Falmouth University is an incredible place to study. It’s a place where collaboration, ideas, innovation and change makers are celebrated. With a focus on the future, we’re exploring the potential of new technology and entrepreneurship, we’re pushing boundaries and capitalising on the power of creativity.

Our approach means that students are doing it for real from the moment they arrive on campus; getting the skills they need in order to be a part of the creative economy after graduation. All of our courses are closely aligned with industry, so students tackle live briefs, work in professional-standard facilities and are taught by academics who are experts in their field.

Of course, university is more than just an academic experience. It’s also where you meet friends for life, find new passions and grow as an individual. Our vibrant, inclusive community is the foundation of student life. Likeminded people can find their tribe and thrive here. Based in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, with a social scene to match much bigger destinations, it’s an amazing, inspiring place to live and study.

Services for International Students

Falmouth University has an international society where students can meet, socialise and take part in events to various locations of historical or cultural interest. The University offers a range of discipline-specific language courses for free, as well as social English and CV writing skill classes.

There is a free pickup service from London Heathrow Airport at the beginning of term and, once a month, a three-day orientation programme is available to introduce students to the Cornish countryside, university and its students. Also included are introductory sessions on visas, bank accounts, accommodation and employment.

All flats are arranged in clusters of two to nine students and each offers free internet access, a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area, and, in some halls, a shared lounge or common room. First-year students are guaranteed a place in university managed accommodation, as long as they get their application in on time.

Location

Falmouth is located in Cornwall in the south-west of England, an area of natural beauty and a long history of association with the arts. It is a popular tourist destination for its views, beaches and small villages. Cornwall has a heritage and culture distinct from the rest of the UK, and features lively towns and peaceful landscapes. It is one of the warmest and sunniest areas of the UK.

Falmouth’s campuses are dynamic, inspiring environments, where collaboration and creativity spark ideas and feed innovation. Falmouth Campus is nestled in the heart of glorious sub-tropical gardens, with a lively creative community, impressive facilities and a library packed with resources, it’s the perfect space to share and develop your skills – and just a short stroll from the beach! Penryn Campus is a contemporary creative hub - architectural innovation, outstanding facilities and state-of-the-art technology. It’s also where you’ll find our bustling student village, and the Stannary bar, which hosts a diverse range of musicians, DJs and club nights all through the year. With great travel links between them, students can easily enjoy both.
