De Montfort University (DMU) is dedicated to supporting our scholars with a bespoke and holistic performance programme that is tailored to support each scholar’s needs. We support all our scholars to excel and reach their sporting potential, whilst allowing them to succeed in their academic studies. DMUsport scholars are awarded up to £6,000 of financial support. This includes a cash bursary of up to £4,000 and up to £2,000 value in kind funding that can be used for sport-specific costs. We have an experienced team of experts that supports each scholar. Our elite performance package includes personalised strength and conditioning training, educational performance workshops, nutrition and psychology guidance and performance lifestyle support. We are an ambitious sports institution and have recently invested millions of pounds into state-of-the-art facilities. All DMUsport scholars are given gold membership to the outstanding Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre. We have a sport performance Watershed Facility which has dedicated strength and conditioning facilities for sport scholars. Beaumont Park is home to the DMU Football, Rugby, Lacrosse and American Football. The Sport Scholarship supports talented student athletes competing at a high representative level. Scholars must be on an undergraduate or postgraduate course at DMU* and compete in a sport that is part of the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) programme or included in the Commonwealth, Olympic or Paralympic Games programme. We have five scholarship tiers depending on what level you are currently competing at. The table below outlines the cash bursary and value-in-kind funding that each scholar receives depending on the scholarship tier they are awarded.
