About these scholarships
Scholarships worth up to £2,500 will be awarded to students who already hold a University of Brighton academic award and who wish to study at postgraduate level at the university.
The scholarship is open to fully self-funding* alumni, studying full- or part-time, and is equivalent to a 20% discount on annual tuition fees, up to a maximum of £2,500.
*e.g. students sponsored by their employer, government or foundation etc, are not considered self-funding.
Who is eligible
This scholarship is available to University of Brighton academic award holders* who wish to study at postgraduate level at the university. The value of this scholarship is equivalent to a 20% discount on tuition fees, up to a maximum of £2,500.
This scholarship is for students commencing their studies in the 2021/22 academic year.
Eligible graduates must be self-funding their studies. This excludes students sponsored by their employer, government or foundation, but includes students in receipt of a government postgraduate loan.
Both full- and part-time students are eligible for this scholarship.
The scholarship applies to postgraduate level study including Postgraduate Taught (PGT) courses and Postgraduate Research (PGR) including:
The value of the scholarship in any year will be adjusted if a student changes their study diet after starting their course (e.g. full-time to part-time).
Students paying regulated fees (e.g. the equivalent of £9,250 for full-time study, such as PGCE, MEng, MArch and MPharm) for postgraduate courses are not eligible for this scholarship.
This scholarship cannot be applied in combination with any other scholarship or discount.
Students who have any outstanding debt owed to the university will not be eligible for the scholarship. The university reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship if a student becomes indebted to the university whilst on the course for which they received the scholarship.
The university reserves the right to discontinue the offer of this scholarship. In such circumstances students will continue to receive the scholarship (subject to eligibility), until they have completed or withdrawn from their current course / programme of study.

How to apply
The scholarship is automatically awarded to students who meet the eligibility criteria. If you are interested in studying an eligible course, but are yet to apply, you should go ahead and submit your application online in the normal way. If you are offered a place, we will automatically identify you as an eligible.
