Early-bird scholarship for MACS students The School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences will be offering the 10% Early Bird scholarship again this year, to Postgraduate (taught) applicants for Actuarial Mathematics & Statistics programmes and Mathematics programmes. (It is not currently being offered to students applying for Computer Science programmes) So, any applicant who accepts their offer (conditional or unconditional) before 31st March 2015 will automatically receive a 10% discount on their fees. We will inform applicants from this end, but please also make any students aware of this scholarship and advise them to get their application in early.

New Courses MSc Water, Technology and Desalination MSc Arabic-English Translating MSc Chinese-English Translating MSc Cultural Resource Management MSc Water and Environmental Management Actuarial Science and Diploma in Industrial Training BSc (Hons) MSc International Business & Communication - this is not a new programme but we have introduced a few changes to it. In the past students did several translation/interpreting courses so had to have a high level of one international language. Not anymore! The programme is now concentrated entirely on developing English-language communication skills in business contexts. MSc Economics, Banking and Finance - This new Masters programme builds upon this reputation with an exciting programme of study gives equal emphasis to the study of economics, banking and finance. The programme is informed by recent developments in research, and encourages the development of professional skills and advanced communication skills. The structure of the programme is designed to provide graduates with access to a range of professions and managerial careers within banks, businesses, non-government organisations and (national and international) government institutions. Alongside the practical skills and knowledge acquired, students will also engage in independent research. Graduates will be equipped for a range of careers in banks, businesses, non-government organisations and (national and international) government institutions.'
