University of Southampton introduces new International Merit Scholarship worth up to £5,000

The University of Southampton is to introduce a new International Merit Scholarship for 2016/17 study, awarding up to £5,000 per student.

The Southampton International Merit Scholarships seeks to recognise talented international students at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate level. These scholarships are offered in addition to the fixed tuition fees and alumni discount already offered to international students at the University. Learn more about your level below.

Foundation Year

Scholarships of up to £5000 are available for international students applying for the International Foundation Year who have very good academic high school results.

Undergraduate Level

Scholarships of up to £3000 are available to international students applying to Undergraduate courses who have excellent exam results.

Postgraduate Taught Level

Scholarships of up to £5000 are available for selected students applying for masters courses, who have achieved an undergraduate degree classification of 1st, 2:1 or equivalent.

Postgraduate Research Level

Over 110 Postgraduate Research Scholarships awarding up to £21,000 are available to selected international and EU students applying for PhD programmes.
