A standard MBA takes one year, but the two-year Executive MBA is on offer for more senior management, and there are many options for combining a part-time MBA with a demanding career schedule.

Online MBA courses are also available and, in a world of ever-increasing grade inflation an MBA still yields a rise in salary and career status that more than offsets the cost of studying. If you wish to study in London there are many courses on offer.

Why study an MBA in the UK?

Nowhere else in the world offers such an international mix of students, teachers and work opportunities as studying an MBA in the UK. If one day you conduct business at a location around the globe, it is not unlikely that your contact will be a classmate you met on your UK MBA years before.

In addition, if you have a degree and a keen sense for business but lack the experience and funds, you can still find an MBA tailored to your requirements. On the other hand, if you have limitless funds and a career to match, a UK MBA can raise your profile, widen your scope and further your ambitions.

How much will an MBA cost?

In most circumstances you will pay fees of around £16,000, but the larger more prestigious schools can charge anything up to £60,000. Studying at a UK university offers much flexibility though, and many budgets can be met by taking advantage of a low cost MBA.

Entry requirements for an MBA in the UK

To be accepted on to some MBA programmes you will need at least an upper second class honours degree or equivalent and at least three (and preferably five) years full-time continuous work experience of a managerial nature. The UK MBA is a postgraduate post-experience programme.

In some cases you will need to take The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). The GMAT assesses a person's analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal and reading skills in standard written English. It consists of four sections: an analytical writing assessment, integrated reasoning, the quantitative section, and the verbal section. The total testing time is three and a half hours. The total GMAT score ranges from 200 to 800 and for some MBAs you will need a score of over 600.
