he Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde is offering a substantial number of scholarships for new self-funded, international (non-EU) fee paying students with excellent academic qualifications who have applied for a relevant programme of study and are commencing their studies from September 2018 or later on in the 2018-2019 academic year.  Students may be eligible for a Faculty of Engineering Excellence Scholarship (FEES) towards their tuition fees of up £3,750* for the first year of their course of study. Eligible undergraduate and postgraduate research students will receive a further £1,500 scholarship for each subsequent year of study.

Key details of scholarships

Undergraduate

  • £3,750 scholarships towards course tuition fees are available for the first year of an undergraduate programme.  Students are expected to achieve an average of 75% + (or equivalent) in their high school grades to be considered. Eligible students will receive a further £1,500 scholarship for each subsequent year of study.

 Postgraduate Taught

  • £2,800 scholarships towards course tuition fees are available for an MSc programme.  Students are expected to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 (or equivalent) in their undergraduate degree to be considered.

Postgraduate Research

  • A number of scholarships of up to £3,750 towards course tuition fees for the first year of a full-time PhD are available. Eligible students will receive a further £1,500 scholarship for each subsequent year of study.  Please note, applications are still being accepted for students commencing their PhD in academic session 2017-2018**.

Eligibility

All self-funded, new international (non-EU) fee paying students holding an offer and wishing to commence their full-time undergraduate, postgraduate taught or postgraduate research programme at Strathclyde in academic year 2018-2019 are eligible to apply.

 

Important notes

  • The application process is now open.  Completed application forms should be submitted as early as possible.
  • Please note that you can only apply for a scholarship once you have applied for a place on a full-time course through the University of Strathclyde’s admission process and have been offered either a conditional or unconditional place.
  • The Faculty of Engineering Excellence Scholarship is only eligible for new self-funded, international (non-EU) fee paying students enrolling on a full-time course.  Please note that students who receive sponsorship from a government office or embassy are not eligible to apply for this scholarship
  • Students are only eligible for one scholarship per academic year.  
  • The Faculty of Engineering Excellence Scholarship scheme is open until 10th August 2018***, however students are advised to submit their application as early as possible due to expected demand for these scholarships
  • Students who do not meet any of the required criteria in this announcement will automatically not be considered

* based on tuition fee of £18,750.  The amount may vary for some courses, including Architecture and Biomedical Engineering

**PhD students commencing in 2017-18 should use the 2018-19 application form
