Scholarships at University of Buckingham
|Scholarship Name||Coase Scholarships|
|Scholarship Deadline||2 July 2018|
An exceptional endowment from Professor Ronald Coase has made it possible to offer generous scholarships in Economics. Up to seven scholarships per year are available.
Students receiving Coase Scholarships will be able to study at the University of Buckingham and at the same time avoid some of the debt that typically awaits university graduates.
The Coase Scholarships have a value of £10,000. The remaining fees can be covered by a student loan. For information on our fees please see here:https://www.buckingham.ac.uk/admissions/fees/undergraduate
Ronald Coase was one of the greatest economic thinkers of the last century whose intellectual influence grew throughout his life and whose ideas have established whole new areas of economic enquiry and profoundly affected the analysis of public policy. He received the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1991.
He showed his support for the University of Buckingham not only by favouring its founding ethos of independence from the State and by accepting an Honorary DSc in 1995, but also by giving a generous benefaction which enables Scholarships to be awarded each year to undergraduate students. His intellectual legacy will continue to inspire the research of staff and students at the University far into the future, while his financial help enables us to pursue its charitable aims.
University of Buckingham Coase Scholars can follow one of the following degree programmes which start in January and September each year:
The closing date for applications for Coase Scholarships is Monday 2 July 2018. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
