Scholarships at University of Bradford

Eligibility criteria

• EU students who achieve the country equivalent of AAA at A-level - a list of all qualifications and their equivalencies is available here:

  • EU Qualifications

• Students must be classed as an international fee-paying student and must be domiciled in an EU country prior to commencing their studies.

• EU students based in the UK who are eligible for home fee status will be assessed under the UK Academic Excellence Scholarship.

• Students who already hold a degree cannot be considered for the scholarship.

• Students who transfer to us from another university will not be eligible for the scholarship unless they transfer into stage 1 of their programme i.e. foundation year or first year.

All alumni of the University of Bradford, regardless of when they have graduated, will receive a 10% discount on their tuition fees.

Please note that students can only receive one scholarship or discount.

Eligibility

• self-funded students only

• all students progressing onto a Master's or a PhD programme from an undergraduate degree

• students progressing from a taught Master's onto a PhD programme

• alumni wishing to study a second undergraduate or postgraduate degree (full Master's or PhD only)

• students who have studied here as part of an exchange, e.g. Erasmus

• students who have completed an undergraduate programme at one of our partner institutions and then wish to continue their studies at postgraduate level here at Bradford; or students studying a premium fee programme by distance learning

• Please note that students can only receive one scholarship or discount so students who are eligible for more than 1 award will be given the award of the highest value

• To receive the discount, students need to be enrolled and self-funding 60 credits

All self-funding students that take up their place on the course will be awarded the respective scholarship.

Students awarded the scholarship are expected to be fully engaged with their study – demonstrated through course attendance and submission of work.  The University reserves the right to withdraw this scholarship if it is deemed that students aren’t sufficiently engaging with their course. Recipients may be required to repay the scholarship amount.

Eligibility criteria

All students from one of the listed countries will be entitled to a £2,000 scholarship as a fee reduction for meeting or exceeding the entry criteria. This discount is payable in all years of study on the course.

Applicable courses

All full-time courses based at the University of Bradford (excluding MBA, distance learning and external).

The University of Bradford is delighted to be able to offer the below scholarships:

• Three £5,000 scholarships for qualified, full time international applicants to the MA Filmmaking

• Five £2,000 scholarships for qualified full time home applicants to the MA Filmmaking

These scholarships support filmmakers in addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Bradford’s UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizations) Creative City of Film designation. The scholarship is designed to develop greater understanding of the work of UNESCO across the world and how filmmakers might respond to this.

Bradford is the world’s first UNESCO City of Film. This permanent title bestows international recognition on Bradford as a world centre for film because of the city’s rich film heritage, its inspirational movie locations and its many celebrations of the moving image through the city’s film festivals, filmed related events and unique approach to learning about film and learning with film. The offices of Bradford City of Film sit within the School of Media Design and Technology who deliver the programme.

Eligibility

• Applicants must have a degree award of at least 2:1 (or equivalent).

• Please note that this is a competitive process and not all applications will be successful. There is no appeals process if you are not successful as the panel’s decision is final; also, please note that we will not be able to offer feedback.

•  Following initial assessment, the University will contact you within 2 weeks of the deadline to inform you whether or not your scholarship application will progress to the next stage of the selection process.

• If your application is taken forward, you may be invited to an interview by an academic member of staff to discuss the information you have provided in your application.

• Please note that, you can only be awarded one scholarship per year.  If you're eligible for more than one scholarship, you will be awarded the scholarship that attracts the highest value.

This award is for self-funding, international fee paying students who are nationals of either: Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Bangladesh, Turkey, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Nepal. This scholarship is available for all students who meet eligibility criteria.

Students on discounted partnership programmes are not entitled to this scholarship.

Peace Studies and International Development (PSID), one of the crown-jewels of Bradford in terms of global reputation, was formed with the merger of two erstwhile departments namely, Department of Peace Studies (created in 1973 as the world’s first such department) and the Bradford Centre for International Development (in 1969 as one of the four oldest development studies centres in the UK). The combined Division benefits from an excellent international recognition for its Postgraduate programmes.

The Faculty of Engineering and Infomatics (FoEI) is delighted to be able to offer a generous scholarship that benefits its international students.  International students will be granted a scholarship at a value of 50% of the advertised tuition fee - equivalent to £11,645.  This means that students will pay: £11,645 per academic year.

All new, full-time, international students that enrol on the Applied Artificial Intelligence BSc  during the 24/25 enrolment cycle.

The Faculty of Engineering and Infomatics (FoEI) is delighted to be able to offer a scholarship that benefits both home and international students.  International students will be granted a generous scholarship at a value of £7,500.  Home students will be granted a scholarship at a value of £2,000.  The scholarship will be awarded via a reduction in tuition fees.

Eligiblity

All new students that enrol on the Engineering Management MSc during the 24/25 enrolment cycle.

Payment amount & frequency

International students will receive a discount on their tuition fees of £7,500 - they will pay: £16,680

Home students will receive a discount on their tuition fees of £2,000 - they will pay: £7,462

The University is delighted to be able to offer a new suite of architectural courses starting in September 2024.  Alongside these new courses, the University is thrilled to be able to offer a scholarship that will benefit all undergraduate applicants, both international and home that enrol on the course.

• International students will benefit from a generous scholarship by means of a £7,500 reduction on their yearly tuition fees 

• Home students will benefit from a cash bursary of £2,000 (paid in three instalments in November, March and June)
